Linhoff Photo was established in Edina, Minnesota by husband and wife team Rosalie and Joe Linhoff in 1954. Together, with Joe’s photography skills and Rosalie’s business savvy, they created the first official Kodak Color Lab in The Twin Cities Metro.
Their combined careers and passion for photography grew into a local business that still strives to keep the art and community of photography alive, from physical media and film to the digital technology of the present.
Today, our business is diverse yet still remains true to our roots. Thanks to the tireless work of our staff and loyalty of our customers, Linhoff Photo not only remains a well-regarded neighborhood shop specializing in full-service printing and digitizing, we also have a thriving sports, dance, portraiture, and event photography division.
Since day one, our approach has been to create a welcoming, neighborly environment and to make the process as seamless and simple as possible for everyone involved, and we are proud to be continuing that tradition today.
Meet the Team!Operations began in the Linhoff household in Edina but soon things got too busy for customers to be coming through the kitchen at all hours. After not so many years starting, Joe and Rosalie moved the business to the location on 44th and France where it would become an icon of the area.
After many years the brothers, Joe, John, Greg, and Jim took over the family establishment and expanded into the space previously occupied by Country Club Dry-Cleaners in 1974.
Jim took full ownership of the business in 2019 and made big changes, including moving the buisiness from it's original location to our present spot on Excelsior Boulevard in St. Louis Park. It was at this time we also adopted the Print Refinery as a co-brand.
In 2022, the business passed outside the Linhoff family for the first time when it was bought by Matt Vollum. Since taking the helm, Matt has been working hard to innovate and streamline many of our processes while still keeping the local, personal touch that our customers have come to expect.
We aim to be a one stop shop for any photography and printing needs. To this goal we’ve recently increased our capacity for making making all sorts of banners, signs, awards, printed booklets, and lots more. If you need it, we can find a way to make it happen.
