Those boxes of 35mm slides hold memories worth keeping — family vacations, holidays, faces you haven't seen in years. At Linhoff Photo in St. Louis Park, we professionally scan 35mm, 110, 120/220, and 126 slides in-house, converting them to high-quality digital files you can share with family, store safely, or turn into beautiful prints. Whether you're digitizing slides to preserve a family archive or simply clearing out the attic, we make it easy. Drop them off at our Excelsior Blvd location and rest easy knowing your originals never leave our lab — they're returned to you after scanning is complete.
View PricingSlides are first scanned with an air cleaning process and in rare instances we may use an anti-static cleaning cloth to remove finger prints. Lint, dust and scratches are common, however, on stored slides and unless they can be removed with the air cleaning process, we do not remove these imperfections as part of the capture process. 35mm slide scans are approximately 1250×1000 pixels in size, which can produce print sizes between 12x18 and 11x17. Upgrade options with higher resolution scans are available upon request. A size and transparency identification guide is located at the bottom of this page.
35mm slides are the most common format we see. Each scan is approximately 4496×3000 pixels — high enough resolution for large prints or digital sharing.
We scan from standard Kodak-compatible carousels (80 or 140 count). Don't have carousels? You can rent them from us — just ask when you bring your slides in.
Dust, lint, and light scratches are common on stored slides — we use an air cleaning process before scanning. Heavily damaged slides can often still be digitized and restored.
